Data Protection Notice
Who is the data controller
This data protection notice is issued by Spinfin Review Desk, the editorial team that publishes spinfincasino-online.co.uk. For anything covered here, write to editor@spinfincasino-online.co.uk.
We are an editorial review desk, not a gambling operator. There are no reader accounts on this site, no registration form, no cashier and no payments, so we hold no betting history, no identity documents and no financial details about you. That absence shapes everything below.
What we process
Very little, and none of it by name unless you write to us first. In practice this data protection notice covers three narrow categories.
- Your cookie choice — a record of what you accepted or declined, stored so the question is not repeated on every page.
- Anonymous usage statistics — aggregated counts of page views, referring sites, approximate region, device type and whether a partner button was clicked. These are read as totals; we do not build profiles of individual readers.
- E-mails you send us — your address and whatever you choose to write when you report a correction or make a rights request.
We do not ask for special category data, and we would rather you did not send it. If you mention your own gambling in a message, we treat that as confidential and use it only to reply.
Why we process it
Each purpose in this data protection notice has its own lawful basis under UK GDPR, and we do not reuse data for anything else.
- Running and improving the site — our legitimate interests in keeping pages working, secure and useful to read.
- Answering corrections and enquiries — our legitimate interests in editorial accuracy, and compliance with our duty to respond to rights requests.
- Non-essential cookies and measurement — your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
We never sell personal data, and we do not run advertising profiles or automated decision-making that affects you.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site functioning and your cookie choice remembered; these need no consent. Anything used for measurement is set only after you agree.
You can change or withdraw that agreement at any time, and your browser settings let you clear or block cookies for this domain altogether. Declining the optional ones costs you nothing: every page, review and figure remains fully readable.
Partner and source sites
When you follow a partner button to a casino licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, or a reference link to a review portal, you leave this site and that organisation's own notice takes over. We are not a joint controller of what happens there.
A partner link may carry a plain tracking parameter so the operator can attribute the visit for commission purposes — that is a commercial record, not a profile we hold about you. We never pass your e-mail address or any message you send us to an operator or a portal. The commercial arrangement itself is described in our site terms.
How long we keep it
Correspondence is kept only as long as the request needs: a correction e-mail stays in the thread until the page has been updated and the matter closed, then it is deleted, with a short record of the change itself kept for editorial transparency. Rights requests are held for the period we must evidence our response.
Cookie choices expire on their own, and aggregated statistics are retained in totals that cannot be traced back to an individual reader.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Where we hold personal data about you — in practice, your correspondence — you may ask for access to it, correction of it, erasure, restriction of its use, or portability. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and you may withdraw cookie consent at any time without giving a reason.
Write to editor@spinfincasino-online.co.uk and we will respond within one month. Exercising any of these rights is free, and it will never affect what you can read here.
Complaints to the Information Commissioner's Office
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent data protection regulator. Its helpline is 0303 123 1113.
We would ask you to raise the matter with us first so we can put it right quickly, but your right to go straight to the ICO is not conditional on doing so.
Changes to this notice
We review this notice whenever the site's measurement tools or commercial arrangements change, and the update date at the top always reflects the current version.
